Octane number:
Octane number represents the quality measure of petrol and determines the resistance of certain petrol to detonation combustion. The bigger it is, the greater the resistance.
Higher value of the octane number:

  • decreases exhaust gas emission

Distillation characteristics:
For good engine operation in various conditions parts of distilled fractions are important. Proper proportion of these fractions enables easier cold start of the engine, improves heating and acceleration of the engine.
 
Steam pressure:
Depending on the season, steam pressure of petrol values vary. Steam pressure defines the fuel evaporation, which is important for correct start of the engine in various seasons.
 
Sulfur content:
In combustion, sulfur in petrol turns into sulfur oxides, and they turn into sulfur acid which leads to corrosion. Decreased sulfur content enables engine operation in a less corrosive environment, which positively affects the extended operation, oil replacement period and exploitation period. Also, it decreases the emission of exhaust gases.
 
Benzene content:
Benzene is a toxic hydrocarbon and it evaporates easily. It has high octane values due to which it is added to petrol at refineries.
 
Copper plate corrosion:
It determines the presence of certain sulfur compounds and moisture in fuels. 
 

Evro BMB 98

Euro BMB 98 is designed for new generation vehicles, but for older cars too, because it provides faster engine and better throttle response.

Sulfur content affects greater wearing of the engine, sediment creations, inability of particles filter and catalyst operation, and increased emission of HC, NOx and CO gases.

Viscosity

High viscosity affects the creation of the mixture of air and fuel, and consequentially combustion of lower quality. Low viscosity leads to poor lubrication, decreased engine power and faster material wearing. This is why viscosity should be within proper limits.

Cetane number

pertains to the ease of auto ignition, the bigger the cetane number, the easier the ignition of fuel. Bigger cetane number affects better auto ignition and fuel combustion, increase of engine power and lower fuel consumption.

Carbon residue

is the amount of heavier compounds in fuel and is a very important parameter for diesel fuel because it tells us about the ability of fuel to create hard residue in combustion.

Lubricity

in diesel fuel is improved by additives due to decreased sulfur content.

Water and sediments

content in fuel is present due to bad manipulation, transport or storage, water and sediments are deposited at the bottom of the tank because of their greater density.

Ignition point

is necessary in order to secure safety in transport and storage of diesel fuel. 
 

Auto gas

NIS Petrol offers LPG, adapted for gas devices of the newest generation.

Metan CNG

Komprimovani prirodni gas (KPG), poznatiji kao „metan“ tj. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), je prirodni gas koji se komprimuje na pritisak od 220 do 250 bara i upotrebljava kao energent u industriji ili pogonsko gorivo u vozilima. Korišćenjem ovog goriva ostvaruje se značajna finansijska ušteda koja, u zavisnosti od tipa vozila, može iznositi i do 50%. CNG će se proizvoditi direktno na NIS Petrol stanicama komprimovanjem prirodnog gasa iz gasovoda, čime se obezbeđuje njegov stabilan i visok kvalitet.  
 
Prednosti korišćenja CNG
 
■ Ekonomičnost. CNG je trenutno najekonomičnije konvencionalno gorivo u poređenju sa benzinom, dizelom i tečnim naftnim gasom.
■ Očuvanje životne sredine. CNG doprinosi smanjenju emisije štetnih gasova, pre svega CO2, ne sadrži sumpor, kao ni toksične aditive organskog olova ili benzena. Takođe, primenom ovog goriva nivo buke se smanjuje i do 50%.
■ Snaga. CNG je najkaloričnije pogonsko gorivo dostupno na tržištu, a konverzijom motora na CNG, vozilo ne gubi na snazi. U poređenju sa drugim pogonskim gorivima, CNG gorivo karakterišu visoka kalorijska vrednost (oko 13 kWh/Kg) i visok oktanski broj (120-130). 
 
■ Lakši start. Gasovito agregatno stanje ovog derivata utiče na bolju startnost i upravljačke performanse, čak i pod izuzetno nepovoljnim vremenskim uslovima. 
 
Koja vozila mogu koristiti CNG?
Pored fabrički proizvedenih vozila sa rezervoarom i motorima prilagođenim za CNG, konverzija se može uraditi i naknadno za sva vozila, bez obzira na njihov tip i dotadašnje pogonsko gorivo (benzin, dizel ili TNG). Na taj način čak i vozila koja nemaju fabrički ugrađen sistem za pogon na CNG gorivo, mogu da koriste ovo gorivo u kombinaciji sa svojim benzinom ili dizelom.
 
Postoje tri tipa vozila na prirodni gas:
 
1. Namenska 
 
Isključivo na prirodni gas. 
 
2. „Bi fuel“
 
Tehnologija koja se može primeniti na putnička vozila koja koriste benzin kao pogonsko gorivo, pri čemu vozilo koristi CNG, ali se zadržava mogućnost upotrebe benzina kao rezervnog goriva. Na ovaj način se može ostvariti finansijska ušteda i do 50%. 
 
3. „Dual fuel“
 
Tehnologija koja se može primeniti za različite vrste vozila koja koriste dizel kao pogonsko gorivo. Dual fuel predstavlja kombinovano zamešavanje dizela i CNG-a, u određenoj proporciji što direktno dovodi do smanjene potrošnje dizela i finansijske uštede i do 35%.
 

WHY IS THE QUALITY OF MOTOR FUEL IMPORTANT?

The quality of motor fuels directly affects the engine’s operation and its length, exhaust gas emission, i.e. it indirectly affects the quality of air. The better the fuel, the less the negative influence on the environment. Quality control of all types of fuel at NIS a.d. is conducted regularly by authorized laboratories with the JUS ISO/IEC17025 certificate.
